Borsalino for Atica

I would like to share this new eCommerce and editorial campaign that I photographed for Borsalino for Atica. Borsalino is the oldest Italian luxury hat company founded in 1857. This brand brings a lot of nostalgia to me. As a child, whenever my father would put on an outfit, it would not be complete without a Borsalino hat. I remember opening his closet and seeing his stacks of hat boxes. There were Panama straw hats for the summer and fedoras for the evening.  All those memories were triggered when I accepted the project, in addition to feeling a sense of duty for creating something meaningful for an iconic brand.

Borsalino for Atica opened in 2015 to service the Jewish community of Brooklyn, New York. I was brought on to photograph the launch of their dress shirts. The same care that is embodied in the hats is also present in Borsalino for Atica’s shirt design.

For this project I ran the production and creative direction.

The original brief was:

  • Capture eCommerce flay lays
  • Capture editorial product shots
  • Capture on model eCommerce images
  • Capture editorial images

The line between ecom and editorial in this industry keeps getting blurred. It is so important to me that I provide the client with images that can be used, not only for their website, but also for social media, and all other forms of marketing.

Dynamic imagery that ticks the boxes for the client’s mood board, while maintaining integrity to my own style, is what I strive to do for each campaign.

I would like to thank our team for being a part of this production and helping things to go as smoothly as possible.
